Cookie Policy

Last updated: February 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet or smartphone) when you visit a website. They serve various purposes such as remembering preferences, enabling site functionality and providing analytics data. The use of cookies is regulated under the EU ePrivacy Directive (2009/136/EC), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and in Germany specifically under § 25 TDDDG (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz).

2. Our Approach

swapto.eu is built with a privacy-first philosophy. We do not use tracking cookies, marketing cookies or third-party cookies that monitor your behaviour across websites. We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function.

3. Hosting Provider

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. All servers are located exclusively in Germany. IONOS may set technically necessary cookies as part of the hosting infrastructure (e.g. for load balancing or DDoS protection). These are essential cookies pursuant to § 25(2) TDDDG.

4. Cookies We Use

The following table lists the cookies this website may set:

NameProviderPurposeDurationType
ionos_*IONOS SEHosting infrastructure (load balancing, security)SessionEssential

On the production version of swapto.eu the site currently sets no first-party cookies. Only the hosting provider may set essential cookies as described above. If this changes in the future we will update this page and, where required by § 25(1) TDDDG, obtain your prior consent before setting any non-essential cookies.

5. No Third-Party Tracking

We do not use:

  • Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook) or similar tracking pixels
  • Advertising networks or retargeting services
  • Social media tracking plugins or share buttons that set cookies
  • Any other third-party tools that set cookies in your browser

We use Plausible Analytics, a cookie-free, GDPR-compliant analytics tool operated by Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia, EU). Plausible does not set any cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track users across websites. No consent is required under § 25(1) TDDDG. For full details see our Privacy Policy, Section 5.

6. Legal Basis & Consent

The legal basis for setting technically necessary cookies is § 25(2) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and functional operation of the website). Technically necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement under § 25(1) TDDDG because they are "strictly necessary" for the provision of the service explicitly requested by the user.

We therefore currently do not display a cookie consent banner. Should we introduce any non-essential cookies in the future, we will implement a consent mechanism compliant with § 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR before those cookies are set.

7. How to Manage Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View which cookies are stored on your device
  • Delete individual or all cookies
  • Block cookies from specific or all websites
  • Set preferences for first-party and third-party cookies

Please note that blocking essential cookies may affect the functionality of the website. For instructions on managing cookies in your browser, consult your browser's help documentation.

8. Local Storage & Similar Technologies

This website does not currently use browser local storage, session storage, or similar client-side persistence mechanisms. Should this change in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. We encourage you to check this page periodically.

10. Contact

If you have questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at contact@swapto.eu. For general data protection enquiries please refer to our Privacy Policy.
